PHAMALY THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS 2023 SEASON

Denver, Colorado, December 6, 2022: Denver’s premier disability-affirmative theatre, Phamaly Theatre Company, is proud to present its 34th Season in 2023, featuring Spring Awakening, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Indescribable.

Winner of eight Tony Awards (including best musical), Spring Awakening is an alternative rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s provocative 1891 play. Part realism painting and part My Chemical Romance concert, this musical gives a powerful voice to those who have traditionally been silenced and provides a stark warning for those who look to strip away autonomy. Spring Awakening will take place 3/23 – 4/8 on The Parsons Theatre stage at Northglenn Arts.

Generally considered the most famous of Shakespeare’s comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been enchanting audiences for generations. Experience Phamaly’s triumphant return to the Denver Center for Performing Arts (DCPA) with its first-ever fully-produced Shakespearian comedy – A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A Midsummer Night’s Dream will take place 8/17 – 9/2 on the Kilstrom Theatre stage at the DCPA.

Join your favorite disability theatre company as they collaborate with America’s Got Talent Season 6 runner ups, The Silhouettes, to produce the first epic dance production in the company’s history.  Appropriate for all ages, this show will feature a story about two children who go on a magical journey through enchanted islands, jungles, and oceans as they long to reconnect. You’ll never see another show like this; it will be truly…Indescribable. Indescribable will take place 11/3-11/5 at The Aurora Fox Arts Center.

“As we enter into this new year, there are certainly questions that our community is still searching for answers for,” said Artistic Director, Ben Raanan. “It would be easy to program a season filled with trauma and discontent, but I am choosing to think about next year with optimism and hope. Each one of these exciting stories reimagines the future as a place where humans are loved, respected, and transformed. This upcoming season holds a LOT of firsts for Phamaly as an organization, but one thing will never change: we will always strive to redefine what it is to be your premiere disability theatre company.” Join Phamaly during its 34th season and IMAGINE the POSSIBILITIES.

Accessibility Services will be available for each production including captioning, audio description, American Sign Language interpretation, sensory friendly performances, tactile tours, Braille materials, sensory guides, wheelchair access, and inclusive hospitality discounts.
