What is the volunteer program

Like all theatre companies, here at Phamaly it takes a village to make a show a success. We are very fortunate to have a team of dedicated volunteers ready to help the production rise to its fullest potential by providing accommodations for performers. Volunteers consist of passionate individuals who fill several backstage positions such as stage hands, wardrobe team, Volunteer Partners, and more! For this production volunteers will work in conjunction with DCPA union technicians and the stage management team.

What kind of backstage volunteer positions are available

Dressing room assistance: A few volunteers will be stationed in the dressing room before and after the show. They are available to help actors get into hair, makeup, mic, and costume (changes during the show are mostly handles by the wardrobe team).

Backstage Assistance: Volunteers will be stationed backstage to help with activities such as prop  hand-offs, guiding actors to entrances, and other occasional backstage assistance.

Volunteer Partners: Volunteers are available for one-on-one partnerships with actors. A Volunteer Partner will be assigned to an actor, assisting them throughout the show. They can perform disability specific assistance catered to the individual they are working with.

Miscellaneous: Other volunteers will be assisting with various productions needs such as concessions, ushering, and moral support.
